Great Wolf Lodge

As soon as we got checked in, we put on our swimsuits... There is just something not right about wearing swimsuits when it is 29 degrees outside!
It was definitely warm when you walked into the waterpark... not so much when you got in the water though! It wasn't TOO bad, but I would have preferred a little warmer. :)

There were SO many Christmas trees throughout the whole place... it was gorgeous! The tree behind them in this picture was enormous.

This entire hallway was lined on both sides with Christmas trees all decorated with different themes. We were by this tree for a little bit while we waited in line to see Santa.

Family pic on Santa's lap..

This Santa was like none I had seen before... he was telling the girls to be nice to each other, to brush their teeth, to eat their vegetables, to go to bed early, etc... It was funny! Maddie told him she wanted a hamster, and he told her no... too much responsibilty for someone her age! Go Santa!!

Santa reading "The Night Before Christmas"
Maddie was telling me who had each of the lines from the book in her school Christmas program as he was reading.

We bought the girls wands this time... they had so much fun hunting for treasure chests and making them open with their magic wands!

The whole wand thing is quite complicated, and we really didn't get it... some nice kids helped us get started, but it was more work than we were looking for! We ended up forgetting the "quests" that included the stairs and 8 floors... we just hunted for things to open and light up!

Kenzie forgot Blackie and Hedge in the car... so we might as well take some pictures while we were out and about!
(We weren't the only ones roaming around the hotel in PJs... everyone was!)

Don't look too closely... I had already taken off my make-up (scary I know!).

We headed out in our jammies to do more magic before another day of swimming...
This little critter danced around with a wave of the wand!

An old tree upset to be disturbed by someone "not even on a quest."

Kenzie was so thrilled everytime she was given 100 gold coins!

Maddie and her daddy in the wave pool...

Kenzie striking a pose...

Waiting for Daddy to come out of the big tornado slide... we had to take turns riding it since the girls weren't tall enough. Talk about some COLD water! It was completely enclosed, but the majority of the slide was on the outside of the building.

The girls had a great time!!! Kenzie's favorite part was the medium size slides again this time (she still spent lots of time the in the little area too). Unfortunately, they said she wasn't tall enough for the big raft ride she went on several times in the summer. She was ok with that, even though she talked about that one all the time. "The big one that we all sit in" (with her hand going around in a circular motion). Maddie's favorite pool from last time was closed the 2nd day we were there this time due to a pump going out, so she spent the majority of her time in the wave pool. I am so glad we went... a Christmas to remember for sure!

Gaylord Texan

After we left Great Wolf Lodge, we went across the street to the Gaylord Texan... amazing!! We didn't go to the ICE exhibit, but just wandered around looking at everything. The even had live reindeer in there!!

The trains were incredible!!

Love the sock monkey!

The BIG Surprise

We let the girls open 3 gifts each tonight...

Kenzie's first gift was a sign that said "Wolf" and Maddie's said "Lodge"

The second gifts... Kenzie's was a picture (since she can't read), and Maddie's was a sign that said "Great"

Hmmm... what does that mean?

Put them together and get...

We are going to stay a night at Great Wolf Lodge over the break... they still talk about our trip from the summer ALL the time so I am sure they will have a blast!!

And, third... new Hannah Montana beach towels for the trip!
