Kenzie...

Since the last 5 posts are all about Maddie, I thought I should include something for Kenzie!
Here are some of Kenzie's favorites at 2 1/2 years old:
Favorite sayings:
Thank you SO much.
No way, no se' (Jose')
...and if we say no way, Jose' to her, she will tell us "I not no se' "
No, me do it.
No, that mine.
I hold you...
That my fa-rit.
Come on, I show you.
I go kin ga ten (Kindergarten...since Maddie keeps saying she is not going!)
Favorite things:
Her favorite princess: Sleeping "Duty"
Favorite socks: rainbow ones
Favorite thing to wear: "whitegown" (nightgown)
Favorite diaper: Princess ones
Favorite songs to sing:
ABCs
Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star
and others that she makes up!
And, of course, her all-time favorite thing...Dolly! She loves that baby doll!
Those are all the things I can think of right now. I know there are tons more! She is such a cutie and always makes my day. She talks so much and is already so smart! She keeps a smile on our faces!

Busy, Busy, Busy...Summertime!

As you can tell from the posts and pictures below, we have been very busy! The end of the school year is so busy, but now it is finally summertime! We are enjoying our first morning of the summer by hanging out at the house in our pajamas. We have lots of summer plans so we will be busy again soon.

Poor Kenzie has missed out on all the fun activities, but we will make it up to her this summer! It won't be long and she will be in school too...only 2 short years away!

End of Year Party--May 23rd

You notice Maddie is dry and the boys are wet...she did not like the fact that her teachers expected her to play in the water with her clothes on. She wanted to take off her clothes and just wear her swimsuit. It took a little convincing (and her finally not being able to stand missing out on the fun) to get her in the water!

For the Pre K end of the year party, they played in swimming pools and water sprinklers (Dora and Spiderman). They ate pizza and popsicles!
Maddie has learned so much and had so much fun in Pre K. She looked forward each day to going to school (except the early mornings). She has informed everyone that she is not going to Kindergarten...she is staying in Pre K forever. There are several boys that have also said they are staying in Pre K too because Maddie is...and she is not "tricking." It is hard to believe she is already old enough for Kindergarten! This year has flown by!

Awards--May 22nd

Awards Ceremony
Maddie received:
KPT Award

Leap Frog Letter Award
(KPT goes to one girl and one boy from each class, Leap Frog Letter is for knowing 24 of the 26 letters...Maddie knows all 26!)

Maddie and Brent (of course!)

Mrs. White

Splash Station--May 21st

Perfect Attendance for the Entire School Year!!

Hunter, Maddie, Brent and Cooper
(The only 4 in Pre K to have Perfect Attendance!)

Superstar!

The elementary kids that did not miss any days for the whole year went to Splash Station in Cleburne for the day. It was cool and cloudy, but they still had a great time. It just doesn't seem to matter to kids if the water is FREEZING! Some of them had purple lips, but they were still in the water.

Field Day--May 18th

Good Grief It's Field Day!

First Place in the softball throw! (Thanks Mrs. Montgomery!)

Tug of War CHAMPIONS!!

Maddie and Mrs. Montgomery

Field day was lots of fun! The weather was great...not too hot. Maddie competed in several running and field events. We have a colorful assortment of ribbons! She had fun and wasn't too worried about the place she was in. There are some competitive kids even at this age!

Bowling--May 17th

Getting ready to go bowling!

Maddie went bowling with the school for perfect attendance for the 2nd semester. They had a blast! I am not sure how much bowling she actually did, but at least Mrs. Montgomery took some cute pictures for me!

Mother's Day with Grandma and PawPaw

We took our slide with us to let the girls play. The girls played on the slide without water while PawPaw was grilling steaks for lunch. It was so hot, and a perfect day to play in the water.
After we ate lunch, we turned on the water to let the girls play on the slide. The weather had completely changed from when we were outside earlier. The clouds had moved in and it was much cooler. That didn't stop Maddie and Delanie from having fun in the water. The water was a little too cold for Kenzie and Daddy. They went down a couple of times before grabbing the towels!

Mother's Day

My beautiful girls...

Maddie changed before we took a picture together...and no, I did NOT dress her, or buy that to wear as an outfit! She is beautiful no matter what she wears! You never truly understand the saying "My mother didn't dress me." until you become a mom.

A picture of Mommy and Daddy taken by Maddie.

Posing like big sister!

For Mother's Day, Dustin and I went to eat at Joe T. Garcia's with our good friends, Todd and Melinda. Melinda and I always wonder why we don't take 2 cars after we are in the car with Dustin and Todd for about 5 minutes (or less). They are such goofballs!! We had planned on going to the movies too, but it took much longer at Joe T's than we expected. I guess we are just too old to go to a 10:00 movie! The girls stayed with Brandi, a Rio HS girl. She is so sweet and the girls had a blast. On Sunday, we had a busy day. We went to the early church service, then headed to McGregor to see Dustin's parents. When we got back home, Nonnie and Granny came over to see us. It was a wonderful Mother's Day and I feel so truly blessed!
