We had Meet the Teacher tonight at our school. Maddie went to see her new 1st grade teachers. I can't believe I have a FIRST GRADER!!!

I decorated some clipboards for Maddie's teachers. I had seen these before, but had not attempted to make one. My friend Meghan gave me one (that her mother made...thanks Susan!), and she made it sound so easy... it wasn't too difficult, but I did end up injured! I should take a picture of my broken fingernail... painfully in the quick! I thought they turned out really cute though.

Can't wait to hear how the first day of school goes! That's great that she already knows her teacher...and I cannot believe that you have a first grader either!
Those clipboards are TOO cute! I'm very impressed...but sad to hear about the injury!
I love reading all the stories about your girls. They have got to be so much fun! Glad to know the first day went well and I LOVE the clip board. How did you do the patchwork? Is it glued on? I would love it if you would share. However, I haven't updated in forever. It is on my to-do list along with so many other things. I'm sure you can relate :)

It is actually just a piece of 12 X 12 scrapbook paper that I trimmed down. I hate to give away my secret, but it is really pretty easy (the 2nd one is easier than the first!). You just buy the spray adhesive in the craft section and spray it on the clipboard (97 cents at Wal-Mart). Just stick the paper down and cut little pieces to fit at the top around the clip. Then just tie ribbon... really easy. Watch out for the lid to the can of glue... that is how I broke my fingernail! :o)
And yes, I keep checking for updates!! Can't wait to see new pictures.
