4th Grade Trip

Last week was our annual 4th grade trip to Austin and San Antonio... We left at 6:00 Monday morning and returned around 6:15 Wednesday evening. It is a really fun, but exhausting trip. Here are some pictures of some of our adventures...

Our first stop is the Suspension Bridge in Waco to stretch our legs, take a restroom break and eat a small snack... for the kids anyway~the adults get kolaches from a little bakery in West!!! Yummy!!
This year we had 54 kids and 10 adults

Our first stop in Austin is the Bob Bullock Museum and Spirit Theater, and for the first time, we ate lunch there instead of bringing a sack lunch...yeah!! After lunch, we toured the Capitol.

The best part of our Austin day is the Duck Adventure!! This truck drives you around Austin and into Lake Austin...while playing loud music and the kids (and adults) make duck noises with these cute bills (especially at people on the street!). It is a blast!!

On Tuesday morning, after a good breakfast at McDonalds, we went to the IMAX to see "The Alamo." (usually a good place for a nap, but I actually watched it for the first time this year... next year will definitely be nap time again!) After the show, we walked across to the Alamo. This year we skipped the guided tour and just did it ourselves... the kids are most interested in the gift shop anyway!
For lunch, we ate at the Rainforest Cafe on the Riverwalk... great fun!!
Riverboat tour...
After the Riverwalk, we headed to the San Antonio zoo. (didn't get any good group pics there) Then we went to the Magic Time Machine for dinner. It gets crazy there, but the kids LOVE it!!
We ended the night on Tuesday with a couple of games of Laser Tag. The adults have just as much fun (if not more) than the kids! The second game we aren't as mobile as the first though!! It is such a cool place with different levels and areas and it is all blacklight. (The one on the right that we are shooting is our principal who smeared us all in the second game!)
After a very long day, 5 of us stayed up even later playing card games!! We played on the first night also. It has become a tradition to stay up after we put the kids to bed and play games. It makes for an even longer day when we have to get up by 6:00 but it is fun!

Here are some of my sweet girls... I didn't have a good group picture from the last day, but I wanted to show off our cute shirts!! We went to Denny's for breakfast and then headed to Natural Bridge Caverns. After the caverns, we start the journey home! We stopped in Georgetown for lunch and in Waco for restrooms...and then, finally, home!!

It was a very fun trip and thankfully we had a 4 day weekend to recover!! (We were off on Thursday and Friday for bad weather days)

Very impressive 3-day trip! I can't believe y'all packed that much in with so many kids. I'm sure you did need 4 days to recover:)

And, I loved the shirts!
